I read some of my great grandfather's old letters last night. Some of the most historically unremarkable documents ever produced they consist almost entirely of comments like "We went here" and "It didn't rain". At one point he stretches himself in his descriptive prose "Went to the Palaces in Paris but I'll tell you about that when I see you." There are even swastikas on some of the cards from before Hitler appropriated them. Ah... the wonderful era of world peace and prosperity before 1914... If you were a leather manufacturer.
