Parents in despair

“It is keeping people awake at night, for sure,” explained Louise Gibson, who has three children at Heriot’s, where senior school fees are currently £17,426 a year.
Mrs Gibson, who is self-employed and runs her own recruitment company, will have to pay an extra £700 a month if the school passes on the full VAT rise to parents.
£17426 x 0.2 ÷ 12 = £290.43
Someone has solved the mystery for me? Still doesn't add up though. BOGOF deal?
Presumably the school has reflected the savings on input VAT recovery and reduced their fees, which is why it's £700 and not £871 a month...

Btw, why didn't you complete the calculation and multiply by 3? There being three children to pay for..
