Organised crime has suspended its operations for 10 days as a mark of respect

Dear Mr Miller

Thankyou very much for your email, in light of the operational changes for Police Officers, therefore leaving PCSOs to run the wards on their own, for the period of defined national mourning, until Monday 19/09/2022 (the day of the funeral), it has been necessary to postpone events such as these until Tuesday 20/09/2022 onwards, when operations return to normal. This is also the same for internal events as well, such as training days.

Many thanks for your understanding at this time.

Dear PC Oliver Hardy*

Thank you for your email.

I'm not entirely sure why the passing of the Queen requires public servants to stop doing anything. Neither am I convinced that it is what a lady whose protestant work ethic is so strong that she got off her deathbed just to shake hands with the Prime Minister the day before her death would have wanted. Then again I am not privy to your operational information. It may be organised crime has also suspended its operations for 10 days as a mark of respect.

I hear too that the Bank Of England cannot change interest rates during the period of national mourning which seems strange as I doubt inflation will take a week and a half off. Perhaps they don't want to create distracting headlines but I have never seen why it should be necessary to become irrational to show that you care.

But you must do what you feel is right.

Thank you

Anthony Miller

Dear Resident

I have had a brief conversation with Councillor Jade Aplomb*, and in light of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, and due to the period of mourning, we have decided out of respect, to postpone the joint Police & Councillor drop-in surgery at Suburbia Park Cafe. This will now take place on Friday 23/09/2022 1500-1600 hours.
