I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Dear The Independent,

I apologise for any inconvenience caused but due to the fact you didn't even challenge my PayPal case because you know you don't have a leg to stand on, they gave me ALL my money back

Your sincerely

Anthony

Dear Anthony,

I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

However as previously mentioned, information regarding the auto-renewal is provided on the subscription page before signing up.

“When the free trial or introductory offer period finishes your subscription will automatically continue at the price quoted on the site during the sign-up process, unless you cancel following the instructions set out below before the end of the trial period.”

“Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, but cancellation will only take effect at the next payment date. There are no refunds for unused parts of your Subscription”

Therefore on this basis I cannot offer you anything further than a partial refund of £50.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can assist you further.

No, unless you send a renewal email notice it's not legal.  What part of "I'm not negotiating" did you not understand?  Cough up.

Dear Reader,

Thank you for getting in touch.

You subscribed to The Independent Premium on 14/07/2024 for A trial offer of £1 for 6 months and then £99 annually.

This has now been renewed as the auto-renewal was set to the ON position.

Information regarding the auto-renewal is provided on the subscription page before signing up.

In addition to this the terms and conditions that you agree to when confirming your subscription state:

“When the free trial or introductory offer period finishes your subscription will automatically continue at the price quoted on the site during the sign-up process, unless you cancel in accordance with the instructions set out below before the end of the trial period.”

“Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, but cancellation will only take effect at the next payment date. There are no refunds for unused parts of your Subscription”

Please see the confirmation button displayed below.

You can read the full terms and conditions here: https://www.independent.co.uk/service/terms-and-conditions-subscriptions-a7357841.html

Unfortunately, we can’t offer you a full refund as information regarding auto-renewal is shared during the subscription process.

While we can’t offer you a refund in this instance, as a gesture of goodwill, we will make an exception and process a partial refund of £50.

This means you will receive access for another year for £49 rather than £99

Please allow 3-5 working days for the payment to be credited to you.

You can access your subscription by logging in to the website - www.independent.co.uk

You can access all of your premium content via our Independent App. You can download the Independent app from any App Store
