Bothered to watch Deepwater Horizon

Bothered to watch Deepwater Horizon on Netflix. Every shirt has a BP logo on even the office shirts like they're working in a petrol station. Mark Wahlberg's daughter cannot act and has a ludicrous expositionary role as they attempt to explain overpressure prediction with a bottle of fizzy pop. Honestly why didn't they just get Ted in...

...and be done with it.  Kate Hudson is so smug you almost want her to be widowed and then you remember it's not actually a comedy and this really happened. If you're going to tack on a love story does it have to be so tacky a blu-tac salesman would complain it is too sticky. The blowout scenes are well done though.

The best bit of the film is where we see the survivors it's actually about in postscript talking about the effect it actually had on their lives at the end. Very odd. Some of it is super realistic and some of it is so wide of the mark. At least (like Dallas) someone had carefully removed any boring seismic sections from the film. They knew there was overpressure there ... They thought they'd chance it. At that depth they're beyond seismic resolution limits so pretty much an unlucky dip...
